The TESOL II Course text is divided into four parts:
Part
One Methodologies and Colour of the English Language
Part
Two Teaching for Particular Needs
Part
Three Building College Skills
Part
Four ESL Course and Curriculum Development
Course Outline:
Part 1: Methodologies
and Colour of the English Language
The first several lessons review many of the ESL
methodologies being used by teachers worldwide. You may find one or more
that you have not yet applied. We also look at idioms,
cliches and slang expressions which are an often neglected part of ESL
teaching yet play a very important role in everyday communications.
Part 2: Teaching for Particular
Needs
In this section, we focus on English for Special
Purposes (ESP). There are many reasons why people need or want to learn
English.
Part 3: Building College
Skills
The third section of the course delves into one
of the main reasons why international students want to learn English -
to prepare to study in an English language college or university. Here
we look at the requirements.
Part 4: ESL Course or Curriculum Development. This section offers guidance to teachers who are charged with the responsibility of developing new ESL courses or complete curricula.
